Catching Up pt 1

So midterms were awful. Anyone care to remind me why I became a biology major? Seriously. I have a death wish. So now I'm just gonna post pictures that I've taken over the past couple of weeks.

Two Shirts and a Belt

To Work

P1010060
thrifted batwing shirt
boif's basketball jersey
Sock Dreams socks
thrifted belt

One of the many great things about Lush is that you can pretty much wear whatever you like as long as it's black and white or all white or all black. And accessories can be whatever you want. (Do socks count as accessories?)
But anyway. I'm completely in love with my socks as I mentioned earlier and this is one of the pairs I got. I'm thinking they'd look so cute with the flats I didn't buy. Hmm. Might have to go back and get those.

My Purse

I know a lot of people have been asking for pictures of the bag I carry. It's a vintage Coach bag that I got off of eBay for like 12 bucks + shipping. I added the ribbons because otherwise it seemed a little too plain. It comes in black too but I find black to be too much of a "safe" color for handbags. This camel color (you can really see it in the third picture) really pops against darker clothing. I like it a lot more than most newer Coach stuff. This bag is classy without trying too hard.

It reads: COACH. This is a Coach bag. It was handcrafted in the United States of completely natural glove-tanned leather cowhide. The variations in the grain are characteristic of natural full-grain leather.

Sorry for not being around recently. I've been working soooo much. It's ridiculous. I haven't had a day off yet. I get a day off Saturday, so that's good. No, not this Saturday, next Saturday. This Saturday I have to work a double shift. I am sooo tired.

Anyway, enough whining. I will update more soon and will be commenting on your blogs again soon. School is coming around the corner and I've fixed my work schedule so it means more outfit posts which is good. At the moment all I wear is black and lots of accessories. It's kinda lame. I'm not sure how I can make it more exciting. I can only wear black and white and whatever accessories I like plus flats. Any suggestions?

I hope your 4ths are going well (if you celebrate it!)

Past Few Days

I've been out and about lately but I keep forgetting to post my outfit pictures. I keep even forgetting to take them before it's nightfall (hence the quality)

The first outfit got a lot of male attention. I don't know why. The dress (Free People) is definitely long enough and the boots (Justin Roper) are not high heels. I wore this to B&N to look through magazines (and take pictures of things.)

The second is what I wore to work. The pants are from Rave (does anyone remember that store? I remember it was the height of fashion for 11 year olds) and the top is Wet Seal. I can't remember where the belt is from.

The other day I went to my interview with Lush and after that, picked up a few basics from UO. A super sheer, super soft, knit tee, and two oversized tank tops made of the same fabric. I got two of the tank tops because they're pretty much perfect. I'm now wondering if I should've gotten another one of the tees. I also got a tank for work and a pair of black skinnies. All of it was on sale. I'm thinking about waiting till the black scarf with fringe is on sale? See, I took it into the dressing room and realized that it was pretty much perfect. You can wear it as a scarf a billion ways but I've also figured out how to make it into a dress and a skirt. But I'm gonna wait it out until it stops being 80 degrees everyday. Once it hits 75 I'll probably pick it up.

Also tomorrow will be the first day of me doing Things I Love Thursday (inspired by Gala, of course,) simply because so much stuff gets written at the bottom of outfit posts. I want to clean it up and make everything neater. So we'll see how well this works!

Boots

My lovely boots arrived on my doorstep today. I'm so pleased with them. Expect lots of outfit posts with boots soon. Also, I just curled my hair because my hair looked way too tame for me.

Tomorrow I'm running to the post office and (because I must plan these things in advance) I think I'll be wearing my boots and black slip. Or maybe my boots and my diy skinnies. Or maybe my shorts and boots. Or maybe. . .

Quick Post

I got home from work and took these pictures. As you can see it's fairly boring and I look pretty tired. The cardi I got from a little shop next to the Flying Biscuit that LC mentioned to me. Thanks! It was really cheap, about $14. One day I'll post better pictures. It's bed time now. Nini.

My Leather Jacket and How To Bid on eBay

Guess what little number is arriving on my doorstep. Why, yes! You're exactly right. It's a leather jacket. How'd ya guess?

Tada! I'm so excited!

I'm amazed I got it so cheap. People are crazy on eBay nowadays. It's like, "ooo this it X Vintage Store, if I buy this I'll look just like the seller!" But I mean really, let's be realistic. $100+ for a leather vest on eBay? Are you serious? And I know people don't even research these things because there are like 10 others in the same size being sold for like $30 dollars right now. And then there are those times where two different vintage sellers somehow manage to sell the exact same thing while still touting that it's one of a kind.

How To Bid On eBay
A Few Tips
* Just cause they say it's vintage, doesn't mean it is.
* Vintage is not the be all end all. There's perfectly good clothing that's not vintage.
* Don't be exclusively loyal to one store.
* And please, don't bid on the first day of auction. It's not gonna help you win, and if you do win you'll end up paying more than you need to. Most sellers start at a listing price of $9.99, if you've bid on it and it's now at $50 and there are 5 days left, you've done something wrong.

I don't mean to rant. I say all this to say mind your pocketbooks so that we (you and I) can get things cheap on eBay (the way it should be.)
